Trust & safety
Safety
We would rather ship slowly than pretend a safety process exists before it does.
Template, not legal advice. This is a plain-language draft written for review. A qualified attorney must approve the final text before launch.

Emergencies
In an emergency in New York City, call 911. CITYSIB is not an emergency service and cannot dispatch help.
Guide vetting, before anyone is bookable
Every Sib application is read by a human. We verify a valid NYC DCWP Sightseeing Guide license, run background screening through an independent third-party provider with the applicant's consent, and require admin approval before a profile appears publicly.
Guide booking stays switched off until that pipeline, payouts and reporting tools are live. There are no guide profiles to browse in this build.
Money stays on-platform
When booking launches, pay through CITYSIB only. A request to pay off-platform, by transfer, cash app or gift card, is a red flag — report it and do not pay.
Meeting up
Meet in public. Share your plan with someone you trust — a Move can be shared as a link. Keep your own transport options. You can end an experience at any time.
Reporting
Report unsafe behaviour, misrepresented credentials, or listings that don't match reality. Reports go to a human review queue, and we will suspend accounts while we investigate serious claims.
In this build the reporting endpoint is not connected, so the contact address is a placeholder.
Venue realities
Hours, cover charges, ID policies and accessibility change without notice. Some spots are 21+, and we label those. Always confirm with the venue, especially late at night.
Accessibility
Accessibility notes on each spot are best-effort descriptions, not certifications. If step-free access is essential, call the venue and confirm before you travel.
